Active Pursuits: Deep-Sea Fishing
The U.S. Virgins have excellent deep-sea fishing -- some 19 world records (8 for blue marlin) have been set in these waters in recent years. Outfitters abound at the major marinas like Red Hook. We recommend angling off the Fish Hawk (tel. 340/775-9058), which Captain Al Petrosky sails out of Fish Hawk Marina Lagoon on the East End. His 48-foot diesel-powered craft is fully equipped with rods and reels. All equipment (but not meals) is included in the price: $550 per half day for up to six passengers. Full-day excursions start at $1,100.
